Welcome to the Neighbourhood
This is Clerkenwell, EC1
Clerkenwell’s vibrant social scene, unique shops and charming character make it one of London’s most desirable places to work and play.
It’s easy to see why global HQs, startups and creative studios alike choose Clerkenwell as their base. As well as being incredibly well-connected, there’s plenty to inspire you beyond the office, from historic pubs and cool coffee shops to one-of-a-kind boutiques and renowned restaurants, not to mention tucked-away green spaces and historic London sights. Clerkenwell is where old meets new, commerciality meets creativity – and ambitious brands come to make their mark.
Essentials
Getting Around
Clerkenwell’s fantastic connections make getting around effortless, with the West End, Shoreditch and the City just minutes away by bus or Tube. Scheduled for 2018, Farringdon Station’s Crossrail link is set to provide even better access to local, national and Underground train services, direct connections to three of London’s five airports, and just a single interchange to the other two for quicker journeys between Heathrow and Gatwick.

Eating & Drinking
Whatever the time of day, the streets surrounding Sutton Yard offer a wealth of places to eat, drink and meet. Grab a morning coffee or lunch on nearby St. John Street, head to fashionable Clerkenwell Green for cocktails and dinner, check out the foodie destinations of Smithfield and discover centuries-old, side-street pubs. For something even closer to home, there’s Sutton Yard’s own on-site café.

Shopping
The area’s unique spirit is evident in its established independent shopping scene, offering everything from design books and jewellery to art and mid-century furniture. The local creative community regularly holds open studio events for the chance to shop direct from the makers, and for a week every May, Clerkenwell Design Week transforms the streets into a festival celebrating British and global design talent.
